In February this year the FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik in Karlsruhe invited to an Open House during which also topics like Industry 4.0 and Mobility were discussed.
State Secretary Peter Hofelich from the Ministry of Finance and Economics Baden-Württemberg outlined the project "Tech Center a-drive“ and its role in digitalization of mobility for the state of Baden-Württemberg. Representatives of Robert Bosch GmbH and Daimler AG presented visionary concepts for future traffic scenarios from the view point of an OEM and a supplier.
The vision of the future of autonomous systems in urban traffic were also the perfect setting for the symbolic hand-over of the financial grant by state secretary Hofelich, in the name of the Ministry of Finance and Economics (MFW) Baden-Württemberg, to the Tech Center a-drive.
Tech Center a-drive targets to improve environment perception and action planning of automated vehicles. The organisation receives an overall funding of € 7.5 million. Daimler AG contributes € 5 million, while the Ministry of Science, Research and Art and the Ministry of Finance and Economics of Baden-Württemberg provide € 1.25 million. Tech Center a-drive strives to expand the cooperation with the expertise of further industry and research partners.
